So what is PookieRee Art all about? Well, its a mixture of things... but it started with Toni (from Easely Does It) and myself running zoom art sessions during lockdown. There is still a huge back catalogue of online sessions available via that website and I will eventually put them on here too. Occasionally we also add a new one! Post lockdown we already had a huge amount of paintings between us and both have the same ethos about creativity building personal happiness, and also that absolutely everyone can achieve something wonderful if they are shown how. Hence we like to build a supportive environment that everyone feels happy and confident in, where they can create something wonderful that they are really proud of. So, post lockdown we were having such a great time that we decided to continue and expand our offering. At this point, due to geographical considerations, PookieRee Art was created to enable people near me (Maria) to identify their local classes more easily. If you have a venue and would like to host do get in touch too. Classes in this area are all with me as I love it when people who come become friends as I think the personal touch is so important. Classes loosely follow the 'paint and sip' model and you can attend on that basis and 'dip your toe in the painty water'. I always hope that you will enjoy the sessions so much that you want to build your skills and that painting becomes a passion you want to enjoy regularly. That is why there is also a loyalty scheme by which you can collect all sorts of exciting things including your own top-quality brush sets. There are always lots of tips and potential to build skills and creativity and the sessions are a little longer than most to allow that. There are also art courses that run in a relaxed fashion with no 'art snobbery'. Everything is designed to be perfect for both the absolute beginner and those wanting to build their skills too. All are welcome. You can also book a private partiy whether for a family gathering, a group of friends, a hen night or other celebration. We also offer gift vouchers as the perfect present! Whilst the core offering is painting sessions with acrylics, there are also option for oils classes, watercolour, life drawing, mixed media, wreath-making, macrame, fairy jars, sculpture, needle-felting and other crafts. We run well-being events for both smaller businesses, and all the way up to well-known corporates, as well as working with event management companies and can custom-tailor them to your requirements. Both Toni and I come from corporate backgrounds and have a wealth of experience in creating the session you want, whether that be cosy and relaxed, or an extremely professional high-end event.
